Day 1

Day 1 – Hobart – Bruny Island – Cape Queen Elizabeth Walk

SUGGESTED PRE NIGHT ACCOMMODATION: Grand Chancellor Hobart.

DEPARTURE TIME: 8.00 am

TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 35-minute transfer from Hobart to Bruny Island ferry. We then ferry across to Bruny Island before a 30 minute drive to the start of the trail. Afternoon: 60 minute transfer from end of the walk to our accommodation with stops en route at the local Cheese Factory and Oyster Farm.

TRAIL NOTES: Walk approximately 12kms. 4 hours walking with breaks. Medium grade. Ascent/descent: 80m/80m

TERRAIN: Along a beach and up a bluff or two; so, expect undulating terrain on natural trails.

ITINERARY: The day will commence in Hobart at 8.00 am at the Hotel Grand Chancellor where you will be transferred to Kettering to join our cruise to Bruny Island. From here we will enjoy a scenic drive through the original homeland of the Nuenonne Aboriginal people. The island has a wide range of rich history, remarkable scenery and wide-range wildlife which you will be a witness of. Our walking adventure begins with us setting foot onto the Bruny Island Neck Game Reserve taking us to the remarkable Cape Queen Elizabeth. Surrounded by lagoons and dunes this 4-hour walk features white beaches and headlands with spectacular views. Features of this walk include open dry sclerophyll bushland, the home of the Bennetts wallaby, a pretty lagoon, stunning beaches and fantastic views from the summit of the Cape. At the end of our walk, we head to our accommodation to freshen up before we embark on a journey to Bruny Island’s esteemed winery for a delightful dinner complemented by their locally crafted wines, before retiring to our accommodations for the evening.

Day 2

Day 2 – Bruny Lighthouse walk – Mt Mangana walk. Afternoon tastings at local providors

TRAIL NOTES: Walk: 4km. Medium grade. Ascent/descent: 120m/120m

TERRAIN: Not technical walking but using natural trails.

ITINERARY: Enjoy a hearty hot and cold breakfast before we set out for our walking experience. Today is all about walking and tastings! The journey begins with a captivating short walk to the iconic Bruny Island Lighthouse, where history and panoramic views collide. Perched majestically atop rugged cliffs, the lighthouse offers a glimpse into Tasmania’s maritime past while providing unparalleled vistas of the surrounding coastline. Feel the salty breeze on your skin as you soak in the beauty of the Tasman Sea stretching out before you. Next, we embark on an exhilarating hike to the summit of Mt Mangana, where nature’s splendour awaits at every turn. As you traverse through lush forests and across rolling hills, immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of this untouched wilderness. Reach the summit and be rewarded with sweeping vistas that showcase Bruny Island’s unspoiled beauty in all its glory. After working up an appetite, indulge your taste buds with a visit to some of Bruny Island’s renowned local producers. Dive into a world of flavours with tantalizing tastings at acclaimed spots such as the superb Bruny Island Cheese factory for lunch and later enjoy tastings at the Oyster Farm, where you can savour the freshest, most succulent oysters straight from the ocean. Continue your culinary exploration with a stop at a decadent Chocolate Factory, where artisanal treats tempt with their irresistible aromas and exquisite flavours. Throughout the day, our expert guides will regale you with tales of Bruny Island’s fascinating history, unique ecology, and vibrant culinary scene, ensuring an enriching and memorable experience for all. Tonight, we embark on a journey to Bruny Island’s famous Hotel Bruny, where you can enjoy the atmosphere and great food of this favourite location of the locals, before retiring to our accommodations for the evening.

Day 3

Day 3 – Grass Point and Fluted Cape Walk – Wilderness Cruise

TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 22 minute transfer from our accommodation to the start of the trail. Afternoon: 1 hour and 45 minute transfer from end of the walk to Hobart.

TRAIL NOTES: Walk: Approximately 6kms. 3.5 hours walking with breaks. Medium grade. Ascent/descent: 270m/270m

TERRAIN: The track to Green Point has a hardened or compacted surface with gentle hills and occasional steps. There are occasional boulder-strewn sections. The track onwards to Fluted Cape is a natural trail, with uneven surfaces and rocks and a steep ascent and descent.

ITINERARY: We begin our day with a delicious, hearty breakfast, fuelling up for an unforgettable adventure ahead. After packing our bags, we set off to explore the breathtaking Fluted Cape, home to towering 272-metre-high dolerite sea cliffs. Our journey starts with a tranquil stroll along the beach, following the rugged coastline to Grass Point, where towering Tasmanian Blue Gums create a magical forest canopy. This historic spot was once a bustling whaling station in the early 1800s, and today, its peaceful beauty makes it a perfect place to pause and soak in the scenery. From here, we challenge ourselves with a steep but rewarding climb to the summit of Fluted Cape, where dramatic organ pipe rock formations stand as nature’s masterpiece. Reaching the clifftops, we’re rewarded with sweeping views over Adventure Bay, Cape Queen Elizabeth, and even distant Tasman Island—a breathtaking moment you’ll want to capture. After our invigorating hike, we indulge in a well-earned lunch at the Bruny Island Cruises Restaurant, perfectly positioned near the waterfront. With satisfied appetites, we then embark on an unforgettable wilderness cruise, exploring Bruny Island’s rugged coastline by sea. Keep an eye out for seals, dolphins, and even the occasional migrating whale as we weave through towering cliffs and hidden sea caves. Finally, we make our way back to Hobart, reflecting on an incredible day of adventure, nature, and Tasmanian flavours, the perfect way to end an extraordinary journey.

ARRIVAL TIME: We arrive back into Hobart at approximately 6.30pm.

* Super Earlybird, Earlybird, Spring and Spot Special Sale Tickets: Must be paid in full at time of booking. Refunds or cancellations are not permitted for Sale Tickets however, transfers to another date are permitted 8 weeks or more prior to departure incurring a $200 transfer fee. We advise taking out travel insurance in case unexpected circumstances prior to the trip, prevent you from joining this tour. Early bird or Spot Special discounts cannot be used in conjunction with another offer. We have partnered with Cover-More to provide travel insurance to our guests. To get a quote or purchase travel insurance directly with them Click here. To receive these special discounts, full payment must be made at the time of initial booking.
* Those who have travelled with Life’s An Adventure previously, receive a past passenger discount of $100. This discount will automatically be deducted from future bookings when you book online using the same email address used for past bookings.
* FREE Pre-tour night: Is based on Harbour View room at the Grand Chancellor. Room only no breakfast included. Single Supplements will need to pay a $125 single supplement fee.

* Prices are per person in Australian dollars and include GST.
* A deposit of $300 per person is required to secure your booking. (unless taking advantage of Earlybird or Spot Specials in which full payment is required at time of booking).
* Note: If you are booking within 90 days of your departure date – we will require full payment at the time of booking
* Prices are based on twin share of rooms. If you are travelling solo you may be required to share with someone of the same gender. If this is not suitable you can request to pay a single supplement, however, limited single rooms are available per trip so are on a request basis.
* Credit Card fees apply or contact us for bank transfer payment options. The following fees apply. Australian Credit Cards including Visa and Mastercard 1% +$0.20 per transaction, International Credit Cards including Visa and Mastercard 3.4% + $0.30 per transaction (payments in AUD).
